A Note from the Creator: Skirts and Scuffs Joins NASCAR’s Citizen Journalist Media Corps.
Of course, without those who read Skirts and Scuffs on a daily basis, we would be just another NASCAR site. From the bottom of my heart, I thank each and everyone of you who contribute, read and comment on our posts. You have helped to make my accidental creation one of the most popular NASCAR fan sites around! NASCAR fans rock, and you all are rock stars in my book.
I am pleased to announce that Skirts and Scuffs has been asked to join NASCAR’s Citizen Journalist Media Corps for the 2011 season. First introduced in the summer of 2009, the Citizen Journalist Media Corps is comprised of 26 websites. These websites are given access to many of the same resources available to members of traditional media, which allows for more in-depth coverage. Joining Skirts and Scuffs as new additions to the CJMC in 2011 are AllLeftTurns.com and OnPitRoad.com. Congratulations to these websites on their addition to the CJMC. We look forward to working alongside you.
Because of our addition to the CJMC, Skirts and Scuffs will be bringing more coverage from the track than we have in the past. Starting off in Daytona and going through the season, Skirts and Scuffs will be there to bring you firsthand coverage from more than a dozen events. As of now, we plan to have representatives at Daytona, Phoenix, Pocono, Kansas, Kentucky, Indianapolis, Infineon and Chicagoland.
In addition to the regular contributors and columnists that you've grown accustomed to in the last year, Skirts and Scuffs has added photographer Debra Ross to our staff. Debra's pictures were used in Jennifer Jo Cobb's appearance on Anderson Cooper 360 and have been used on Skirts and Scuffs in the past. Having Debra as part of our staff will allow us to bring you original photos from locations around the circuit.
Thank you all for your support and we look forward to seeing you at the track!
