Holly's 2011 Championship Picks

Here at Skirts and Scuffs we have a tradition of asking some of our contributors to make championship picks before the first lap of the season has been completed. We know it's a long-shot, but it's still fun and we love fun! This post is the first of many you will see over the next couple of days.

First up is Holly.

Sprint Cup: Carl Edwards

Maybe I am going out on a limb here because I do realize that Carl did not have the best 2010 season. However, Carl has proven to be a great driver. He was second in points in both 2005 and 2008. He has 18 wins and 118 top 10s just in Sprint Cup. He finished fourth in points in 2010 and ended the season on a positive note with two wins.  I think that he is due for a Sprint Cup championship. I also believe that Roush Fenway is due for a championship.

Nationwide Series: Elliott Sadler

I don’t believe that this is going out on a limb. With Elliott running full time for Kevin Harvick Inc., and not running in the Sprint Cup series, he will have time to focus on his Nationwide driving. His best finish in Nationwide points was 5th in 1997.  Although most of the team's success has come in the Camping World Truck Series, KHI is poised to win their first NNS title with Sadler at the wheel.

Camping World Truck Series: Matt Crafton

Although Matt Crafton only has one win in Camping World Truck Series, he had a career-high points finish of 2nd place in 2009. Last year, he finished 4th. With 129 top 10s, he is due for some wins and a possible championship.
