Amanda Bradeen's 2011 Championship Picks
Is it that time already? Time to pick who I think will lead the packs in the Sprint, Nationwide and Camping World series. It's always such a tough decision!
Sprint Cup: Denny Hamlin
Last year I picked Kurt Busch, who ended up finishing 11th in the standings. He started off good but didn't make the cut. So for 2011 I have to go with the second-place finisher in the standings of 2010, Denny Hamlin. This guy is the only guy who gave Jimmie Johnson a run for his money in 2011. He was only 39 points out of winning that championship. Hamlin is really good at winning races and if that can hold true for the end of the season when Jimmie Johnson usually shines, well then his streak just might end. I've come to learn that you can't pick who you think will win the championship based solely on who your favorite is. It just doesn't work that way.
Nationwide Series: Justin Allgaier
Well this is going to be a good one because I'm sure most of us would've picked either Kyle Busch or Carl Edwards, or maybe even Brad Keselowski (who would've been my pick if he didn't run Sprint Cup full time). So my pick will be Justin Allgaier. He finished 4th in the standings and was the best finisher who just runs Nationwide full time. Allgaier had one win in 2010 and his average finish was 11th place. I definitely think this is the driver to watch out for in 2011.
Camping World Truck Series: Todd Bodine
Last year I didn't give an answer because I wasn't big into it. Well in 2010 I became quite the fan of the truck series. Watching it live gives you a reason to love it even more. I don't know if anyone can beat Todd Bodine. That guy is talented. With four wins and the average finish of 6th, I think he has 2011 in the bag.
I have never been so excited for a season to start. With the new changes, there is sure to be some great moments, and I can't wait to see them!
