Pole Report: HMS sweeps top 4 for Aaron's 499 at Talladega

With being a superspeedway, starting lineups really do not matter much at Talladega, other than where your pit box is located on pit road. Within the first lap, moves will be made, positions swapped so driver ___ who starts in 38th can be up to 6th within mere seconds.

Hendrick Motorsports made a strong showing for pole contention, sweeping the first four positions. Jeff Gordon claimed the pole, with a time of 53.72 seconds and a speed of 178.248 mph.  Gordon shares the front row with Jimmie Johnson. Mark Martin, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Paul  Menard round out the top five.
