JR Motorsports is Fired Up at Kentucky

Nationwide will be racing under the lights Friday at Kentucky. Practice times are 6:10 p.m. ET on Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday, and qualifying will be 3:30 p.m. on Speed. The race is at 7:30 p.m. and will be aired on ESPN.

Kasey Kahne will race for JR Motorsports for the first time in his career. He’ll be driving Danica Patrick’s No. 7 Go Daddy.com/Verisign Chevrolet at Kentucky. Friday's race is his sixth Nationwide start, but he has a total of 169 series starts. Kahne has seven wins in the series, 29 top 5s and 59 top 10s. Kahne’s crew chief will be Tony Eury Jr. and the team has Kahne scheduled for a second run in the No. 7 car for Loudon, New Hampshire, next weekend.

Aric Almirola fans at Kentucky will have the opportunity to meet Almirola on Friday at 5 p.m. ET at the JRM souvenir trailer. This weekend he’ll be sitting in the No. 88 Grand Touring Vodka Chevrolet. After a late crash in Daytona, Almirola finished in ninth, led one lap, earned 36 points and is in sixth position for championship points.
