JR Motorsports is Fired Up for Nashville

After an amazing run at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, JR Motorsports spirits are high and rightfully so.

Kasey Kahne had a two race commitment with JR Motorsports to race the No. 7 Go Daddy.com car, he brought home a 4th place finish in Kentucky and a 3rd place finish in Loudon. He was running in 10th place during the final crash with 10 laps to go and he drove the Chevrolet to seventh a few laps later, he avoided another crash and move along to finish in third. This brings the No. 7 team their fifth top ten of the season.

Kahne got a call from the boss, Dale Earnhardt Jr. about a month ago to talk about racing in Kentucky and NH; it was a wise choice on both their part.

“We were a sixth, seventh, maybe eighth place car, but we took advantage of some stuff and came out of here with a pretty good finish,” Kahne said. “The cool thing for me was I got to be behind everybody when they were wrecking. I saw some cool stuff. I avoided three or four cars weaving and wrecking coming down the straightaway. It was actually pretty entertaining from my seat. The Go Daddy team did a great job. We’ll take a solid third-place finish for what was probably a seventh-place car.”

Aric Almirola finished in fifth after an adventurous, twists and turns race. The car was a bit difficult to drive, the car was 'bouncy.' After pitting on lap 168, and altering the balance, he restarted 11th with 28 laps to go ... and then the big wreckage happened. He was able to avoid all the action and drove his No. 88 GT Vodka to a 5th place finish.

This is the first time this season that JR Motorsports had two cars finish in the top 5 in the same race. This week they are headed to Nashville, Tennessee.

With the fire and energy in their blood, Josh Wise and Almirola are getting ready for the Federated Auto Parts 300 at Nashville Superspeedway for a 225 lap race on a 1.33 mile concrete D shaped oval track. The last time these two guys were there in April and they finished in 9th and 10th place.

If you are headed to the track this weekend, you can meet Wise and Almirola at the JR Motorsports Merchandise trailer at 1:30 on Saturday 7/23.

Josh Wise was off from racing at JR Motorsports for four weeks, he’s now back and ready to race the No. 7 Taxslayer.com car with Tony Eury Jr. as his crew chief. The last time he raced in Nashville, he finished in ninth position. This will be his tenth start with JR Motorsports and has been able to bring home two top-tens and four top 15s.

Almirola finished in 10th last spring in Nashville. This weekend, he’ll be racing the No.88 Degree car with his crew chief Tony "Pops" Eury. Almirola's best finishes have been at concrete tracks this year. Currently 5th in points, Almirola is thirsty for his first win of the season.

JR Motorsports No. 88 team is currently 11th in owner points.
