Five-Time Tops Saturday Morning Practice for Sunday's Sylvania 300

Five-time champ Jimmie Johnson ended the second practice session for the NSCS at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on a high note taking the top spot with a time of 29.254 seconds at 130.198 mph.
With three Chase drivers among the top-five, topping the second practice were Jeff Burton (29.258 seconds, 130.180 mph), Kevin Harvick (29.265 seconds, 130.149 mph), Greg Biffle (29.274 seconds, 130.109 mph) and Jeff Gordon (29.297 seconds, 130.006 mph).
Pole winner for Sunday’s Sylvania 300 and fastest in practice yesterday, Ryan Newman placed ninth this time around with runner-up Kasey Kahne finishing up practice in 14th.
In 19 starts at NHMS, Johnson had 3 wins, seven top-fives and thirteen top-10s. His last win at the track came in last year’s June race and in 2003 he swept both NHMS events.
Current NSCS points leader Harvick was third in second practice, an improvement from yesterday’s 11th. Harvick’s record at NHMS includes one win (2006), one pole, five top-fives and 11 top-10s.
Sunday’s Sylvania 300 will air at 2pm ET on ESPN.
