With 5 cars to go, Mother Nature let loose at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, almost forcing NASCAR to form the starting lineup via practice times. However, they were able to quickly dry the track and push the last five cars out in the midst of a window. Ryan Newman was the last to go and the fastest out of all 45 cars that qualified with a time of 28.213 seconds at 135.002 MPH. This is his 49th pole in 360 Sprint Cup series races, which makes him tied ninth with Bobby Isaac for the all-time series poles list. This is Newman’s third pole of the year and his sixth pole at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Tune in Sunday on ESPN for the Sylvania 300!
