Grammy-Winner Los Lobos to Perform Concert at Phoenix International Raceway
Roots-rock group to kick NASCAR weekend into overdrive with free performance on Nov. 13
(PHOENIX, Ariz.) – Multiple Grammy Award winning recording artists Los Lobos – who reached super-stardom in 1987 with their chart-topping cover of Ritchie Valens’ La Bamba – will perform at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 13 at the Budweiser ROLL-Bar main stage prior to the Kobalt Tools 500 at Phoenix International Raceway.
The five-piece eclectic ensemble from East Los Angeles includes David Hidalgo, Louie Pérez, Cesar Rosas, and Conrad Lozano and Steve Berlin. The band has been performing and releasing records for nearly four decades – sharing the stage with acts such as Bob Dylan, U2 and the Grateful Dead. With their eclectic style that draws from rock, country, folk, R&B, blues and traditional Spanish and Mexican music, the band continues to redefine their sound while maintaining a rich musical tradition. In August 2010, the group released their first album in four years, entitled Tin Can Trust. This year they launched an international tour with stops in Europe and Australia.
Tickets for the Kobalt Tools 500 on November 13 and the WYPALL* 200 on November 12 at Phoenix International Raceway are available by calling 866-408-RACE (7223) or by visitingPhoenixRaceway.com.
