NASCAR In Heels: Holiday shopping in a click

The Great American Sport through the eyes of a single girl

It’s that time of year again. Before you know it Christmas will be all done and over with. But for those of you who have yet to do your holiday shopping, I have some ideas for you! I have recently browsed through the NASCAR online store, and have pinpointed the good, and the bad, when it comes to the perfect gift for the female NASCAR fan in your life. Note that I have strayed away from the typical “boxy t-shirt” or “oversized hoodie” that many closely relate to NASCAR.

The Good…
1. The Chase Authentics Kyle Busch Ladies Fleece and Long Sleeve Henley. Starting off with a controversial driver, but some very cute clothing. Both of these are inspired by Kyle’s wife, Samantha, so we know they must be cute! They show that you’re a NASCAR fan, but they are still stylish and let you show off your figure a bit! If you get her these she will be able to wear them to the grocery store, the racetrack, or the bar. You can dress them up or down!

Adorable and personalized wine glasses
are a perfect gift for any NASCAR fan.
2. The Susquehanna Wine Glass. Now for the wine drinker! These wine glasses can be personalized, and come in almost every driver’s number. There isn’t much else to say here; I mean who doesn’t like a glass of wine? The NASCAR logo, or driver’s number is just an added bonus!

A toe ring is a great accessory.
3. The Logo Art Toe Ring. Accessories are very important, and this is a nice, subtle way for a girl to show support to her favorite driver. I’m a big feet flirter, this toe ring will look super cute with sandals in the summer, or on your vacation. These toe rings are a bit more expensive that the ones from Wal-Mart, but they are gold and silver, so they won’t turn her toes green! I don’t think I would go as far as to wear a NASCAR ring on my finger, but I would definitely sport one on my toe!

4. Number four on this list isn’t exactly from the NASCAR store, but it’s still an awesome gift! Get her race tickets! Plan a weekend getaway to a race in the 2012 season. You can also get her a 3-lap ride along from the NASCAR Racing Experience for only $99.99. That’s a once in a lifetime opportunity. If that isn’t a deal, I don’t know what is!

A few things you should avoid putting in your shopping basket…

1. The Women’s Broadway Pajama Set. Really, who wears this kind of jammies anymore? I guess you’re off the hook if you’re buying them for your mom or grandma. I like something a little cuter, and lighter to sleep in, like a cami and panty set (Hint, hint NASCAR). The poor girl would be sweltering in these!

Visors are not recommended.
2. The Chase Authentics Ladies Slide-On Visor. I see NASCAR got the inspiration for this one from the retirement community in Florida. If she is looking for some shelter from the sun don’t make her look like a fast-food restaurant employee. Now I will admit, I have had a few visors in my day, but they are out. There are plenty of nice hats, just go for one of those instead.

These jeans are a bit over the top!
3. The Flag2Flag Greg Biffle Ladies Stud Pants. About 10 or 12 years ago these would have been a best seller, but unfortunately studded legs and embroidered patches are pretty much out. I say “pretty much” because many women don’t mind studs or detailing on the pockets of their jeans, but down the legs is a bit drastic. And, the No. 16 patch reminds me of the butterfly patches I used to have on my jeans, yikes! These look like the product of a few hours with a Bedazzler. Let’s just say NASCAR and denim do not mix!

Hopefully these suggestions will help you out with your shopping this year. A NASCAR related gift will be a hit under the tree this Christmas! But for all you guys, last minute shopping won’t really work with the NASCAR online store, so I’ve got 6 words for you: Diamonds are a girl’s best friend! ;)
