Kentucky Speedway lifts cooler ban

One of the many complaints fans had in regards to Kentucky Speedway was their policy regarding coolers. Fans who attended races at the 1.5 mile track in Sparta were prohibited from bringing coolers of any type through the gate, although they were allowed to carry in one unopened bottle of water.

In an effort to give patrons a better experience, the speedway announced today that they are lifting the cooler ban for the 2012 season. Fans will now be allowed to carry in one 14x14 cooler containing water, soda, sports drinks, and food, however alcoholic beverages will not be permitted due to Kentucky laws.

This announcement comes one week after the SMI owned track outlined traffic and parking improvements for the 2012 season.

Kentucky Speedway hosts it's second Sprint Cup Series race the weekend of June 28-30 as well as a  NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and NASCAR Nationwide Series weekend September 22-23.
