NSCS Pole Report: Mark Martin still has it, nabbing fourth pole on the season
Running a partial schedule is suiting Mark Martin this season, adding in the fantastic season that Michael Waltrip Racing as an organization is having and "The Kid" is unstoppable.
Martin claimed his fourth pole of the season, after posting a lap of 199.706 mph on Friday at Michigan International Speedway. This is Martin's 55th career pole and he now ties Bill Elliott for seventh on the all-time NASCAR list of pole winners.
Joining Martin on the front row, the No. 99 Geek Squad Ford Fusion of Carl Edwards. Desperately looking for a win to save his Chase hopes, Edwards will be one to keep an eye on come Sunday.
Of note: Parker Kligerman qualified the No. 22 for Sam Hornish Jr., who was focusing on his Nationwide car today. This was Kligerman's first time in a Cup car and he qualified in 17th, ahead of his Penske teammate Brad Keselowski.
