Travel Tips: Kentucky/New Hampshire Motor Speedway Fan Edition




The NASCAR Camping World Truck (Kentucky 201) and Nationwide (Kentucky 300) Series will be heading to Kentucky Speedway located in Sparta, KY. After this upcoming weekend, both series will have approximately six races left to compete in this season. James Buescher (UNOH 225, Jun. 28) and Austin Dillon (Feed The Children 300, Jun. 29) are the reigning winners in their series respectively.

Skirts and Scuffs Founder Katy Lindamood will be providing live weekend coverage from Kentucky Speedway. Make sure to follow Skirts & Scuffs on Twitter for race updates, track pictures and breaking news.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup (Sylvania 300) Series will be heading to New Hampshire Motor Speedway located in Loudon, NH. The track will play host to the second 2012 Chase for the Sprint Cup race. The reigning winner at this track is Kasey Kahne (Lenox Industrial Tools 301, Jul. 15) and he is currently sitting fifth in the points standings.

This week’s Travel Tips will be structured a little differently from the previous columns. It will consist of fan event information for both Kentucky and New Hampshire Speedway along with a links to access predicted weather conditions and previous area tips.

Thursday, Sept. 20:
  • Speedway Children’s Charities Laps for Charity, Location: TBA (6:00-8:00 p.m.)

Friday, Sept. 21:
  • NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Autograph Session, Turn 1 (3:00-3:45 p.m.). Drivers scheduled to appear include: Todd Bodine, Ross Chastain, Jennifer Jo Cobb, Joey Coulter, Ty Dillon, Cale Gale, Tim George Jr., Max Gresham, Ron Hornaday Jr., Parker Kligerman, Justin Lofton, Brennan Newberry, Miguel Paludo, Timothy Peters, Nelson Piquet Jr., Johnny Sauter and Jason White.

Saturday, Sept. 22:
  • NASCAR Nationwide Series Autograph Session, Fan Zone (11:00-11:45 a.m.). Drivers scheduled to appear include: James Buescher, Jeremy Clements, Brendan Gaughan, Drew Herring, Johanna Long, Brian Scott and Brad Sweet.

Thursday, Sept. 20:
  • FanFest hosted by WOKQ 97.5, which will feature driver appearances, Q&A with Cup driver Matt Kenseth, Sprint Cup Hauler parade and an evening concert. Event Times: 5:30-10:00p.m. Admission is FREE. For more information, click here
Friday, Sept. 21:

  • Fans First Pole Day – Spectator gates will open at 8:00 a.m. Fans will be able to watch the NASCAR K&N Pro (8:30-10:30 a.m.), NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour (10:10-11:45 a.m.) and NASCAR Sprint Cup (12:00-1:30 p.m.) Series practice. For more information, click here
