Travel Tips: Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course – Aug. 16-17, 2013

The Nationwide Series makes its inaugural trip to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio, this weekend, Friday and Saturday, Aug. 16 and 17, for the Nationwide Children’s Hospital 200. The Trans-Am Series is also on the schedule for the weekend.

Celebrating more than 50 years of racing, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is a permanent road course with two configurations - a 2.4-mile 15-turn track and a 2.25-mile 13-turn track. It hosts a variety of events each year, including motorcycle racing, vintage sports car racing, the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series and the IZOD IndyCar Series. It is also home to the Mid-Ohio School, which offers licensed drivers and motorcycle riders programs in defensive driving and high performance driving, as well as performance track riding programs.

Fans in attendance will be treated to a Nationwide Series autograph session on Friday from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. ET. Friday’s session will take place on Championship Row and is limited to the first 350 fans, so get a wristband early from the Nationwide Insurance display before the session.
