Travel Tips: Las Vegas Motor Speedway – March 7-9, 2014

Race No. 3 on the 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule keeps the teams out west as they head to Las Vegas, Nevada for the Kobalt Tools 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Friday-Sunday, March 7-9. The Nationwide Series will also compete in the Boyd Gaming 300 this weekend at LVMS.

Race fans looking for some extra action can check out the neighboring Dirt Track at LVMS, where the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series continues its 2014 schedule on Wednesday and Thursday, March 5 and 6. See top-ranked teams owned by Cup Series stars Tony Stewart and Kasey Kahne and all-star drivers like Steve Kinser, Sammy Swindell and Daryn Pittman. Grandstands open both nights at 5 p.m. PT with racing getting underway at 6:15 p.m. PT. Get more information on the Dirt Track here.

Fans wh want to stick to asphalt all weekend can check out the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Hauler Parade, which takes place Wednesday night at 5 p.m. PT, beginning at the south end of the Las Vegas Strip. In addition, the Cup Series will be testing the new rules package at LVMS on Thursday from noon to 4 p.m. PT; the grandstands and Neon Garage will be open for free to all race fans, with Ticket Gate C opening at 11:30 a.m. PT.

Thursday night at Sam’s Town Hotel and Gambling Hall, the Speedway Children’s Charities NASCAR Driver Auction takes place at 6 p.m. PT; doors open at 5 p.m. PT – find more information here.
