Fast Facts: Jeffrey Earnhardt

He has one of the most famous last names in auto racing, but fourth-generation NASCAR driver Jeffrey Earnhardt is trying to make a name of his own in the Sprint Cup Series as part of Go FAS Racing. Learn more about Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s nephew in this week’s edition of Fast Facts.

• Jeffrey Earnhardt was born June 22, 1989 in Mooresville, NC. His father is Kerry Earnhardt, his grandfather was the late Dale Earnhardt and his great-grandfather was Ralph Earnhardt.
• Earnhardt began racing in the Hornet division at Wythe Raceway in Virginia as a teen, also competing in the Sportsman and Late Model divisions before moving into the NASCAR Busch East Series (now K&N Pro Series East) as part of a General Motors driver development program in 2007. That year, he finished fifth in points and won the Most Popular Driver award.
• In 2009, Earnhardt made two starts in the Nationwide (now Xfinity) Series for Key Motorsports, finishing 24^th at Watkins Glen and 31^st at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal. In 2010, he joined Rick Ware Racing in the Camping World Truck Series, moving to the Nationwide Series with the team in 2011; Earnhardt also competed in the 24 Hours of Daytona for RWR in 2011 and 2012.
• Earnhardt has made starts across all three of NASCAR’s top tier series for numerous teams including Go Green Racing, Randy Hill Racing, and his uncle’s JR Motorsports team. In 2014 he competed full-time in the Nationwide Series for JD Motorsports, finishing 18^th in final points.
