Deegan made her series debut on Saturday, October 17th, where she finished in 16th place, earning her the series record for best finish by a female driver. Johanna Long previously held that record.
“We are very happy with Hailie’s progress as demonstrated in her first year as a part of our Ford Performance driver development program," Mark Rushbrook, the global director of Ford Performance Motorsports, said in a statement. “Continuing with the consistency from DGR-Crosley, Hailie is ready to make the step to the NASCAR Truck Series providing some intense competition and great racing.”
Deegan moves up to the CWTS after earning Rookie of the Year honors in the ARCA Menards Series. She finished third in the championship standings.
“I am excited for this next step in my career with Ford Performance,” said Deegan in a statement. “I have raced trucks in the off-road world but to now have the opportunity to race trucks next season in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is a dream come true. I have some great partners already behind me for next season. We have a few primaries still available and I hope that we can fill these up in the coming weeks. I can’t wait for Daytona 2021 to get here.”
Deegan began her career with Toyota Racing before switching to Ford Performance in December of 2019. She earned three victories (one in 2018 and two in 2019) in the ARCA Menards Series West.
She scored four top-five finishes and 17 top-10 finishes in the main ARCA Series tour this year. Her average finish was 7.3 throughout 20 starts.
