A win at Talladega Super Speedway today (Sunday) would add to an already celebratory weekend for Ryan Blaney. The Team Penske driver became the most recent inductee at the famed Talladega Walk of Fame at Davey Allison Memorial Park. The induction took place on Friday evening at the park in downtown Talladega, Alabama.

Blaney joins previous inductees Clint Bowyer, Tony Stewart, and Kasey Kahne, as well as veteran drivers like Mark Martin, Dale Earnhardt Sr., and Richard Petty.

“Yeah, that’d be great.” Blaney told Skirts and Scuffs of winning at 'Dega this weekend, “That was really neat yesterday [that] we were able to go do that. Never thought I’d be in the Hall of Fame of anything. That was really nice of Talladega to do that.”

The Team Penske driver is looking for his first win of the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season. He is 10th in the drivers standings, 61 points behind leader Christopher Bell.

Blaney, who is trying to snap a 55-race winless streak, would love to add a victory in 2023 to his career win column the same week that he is honored for his achievements at the track.

“It’d be nice to win here for the third time. That’d be really neat. I couldn’t think of a better spot to get back to Victory Lane to win somewhere for a third time.

“This place is just super cool. I just enjoyed coming here as a kid. Winning two in a row is super neat and I would like to get a third one. I don’t think many guys have won here three times, so that’s be really cool.” Among active drivers, only former Penske teammate Brad Keselowski (six) and current teammate Joey Logano (three), have achieved that feat.

Blaney is a solid pick to win at the 2.66-mile track. In 17 starts, Blaney has two wins, four top-five, and six top-10 finishes.

He'll lead the Team Penske organization to the green flag on Sunday, starting in the fifth position. Teammates Joey Logano and Austin Cindric start in the eighth and 15th positions, respectively.

The race is set for a 3 p.m. ET start. Coverage will be on your local FOX affiliate.
