Magic did happen at Loudon’s Lenox 301 today at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. From an elderly woman named Rachel who was able to celebrate her 100th birthday by getting a grand tour of the facility, meeting her favorite driver Carl Edwards and getting a chance to drive the pace car around the track; to a high school teen who got to have a personal graduation in front of the fans right before driver introductions, to Stewart -Haas driver Ryan Newman starting on the pole and team owner Tony Stewart starting in second.  The magic continued with Newman finishing in first and Stewart in second and the teams finished the race right where they had begun. This was a winning weekend for Newman, who had two poles and two wins at Loudon.

Newman pulls a double pole and race win in the Modified and Cup series at a track that he doesn’t particularly like simply because the banks are too flat and he prefers 20 degree banking when he races.
It’s Newman’s first victory this season, marking his third Cup win at NHMS and Stewart's best finish. Newman is now 8th in points and Stewart is 11th.

To make things even sweeter for Newman, this is his first Cup win as a dad and baby Brooklyn's first visit to victory lane along with her mommy Krissy.

“I’m just really proud of the U.S. Army team and Chevrolet and all the people that help out. It’s a big deal for us. Gene Haas is here. Everybody is cutting up and having a good time.”

Stewart went on to tell media, “Man this is one hell of a perfect weekend for Stewart-Haas Racing. It was a sweet one two qualifying and one-two in a race. I’m so damn proud I can’t see straight.”
