Pastrana, an 11-time X-Games gold
medalist, will be racing in only seven Nationwide races due to maintaining his rookie
status for 2013. The extreme sports athlete also plans to run 11 K&N Pro Series races
starting at Bristol Motor Speedway in March.
Pastrana is ready to go, healed from injuries he suffered
last year, and has been working with Matt Crafton to prepare himself for
his NASCAR debut.
“I was pretty much unable to do anything for a couple
months, but as soon as they let me I was back behind the wheel testing and
preparing for this upcoming season," said Pastrana. "I have to thank Boost Mobile for its
patience and understanding – they didn’t have to stick with me through all
this, but they did and I really appreciate it. I really hope to reward their
commitment once I get back behind the wheel at Richmond.”
Pastrana will be racing under a technical alliance with
Michael Waltrip Racing, who will provide personnel and equipment to the newly
former Pastrana199 Racing team. Boost Mobile, a long-time backer of Pastrana,
will sponsor all seven Nationwide Series events and iRacing.com will serve as
sponsor for four K&N races. Pastrana is seeking sponsorship for the
remainder of the races.
