On the hood: Goody’s, a brand familiar to most NASCAR fans.
You may have seen ads with Earnhardt Jr.as spokesman, but this is the first time he’ll run the brand’s livery in the Xfinity Series despite having worked with them for three years.
“It’s a big race for JR Motorsports,” said Earnhardt Jr. “They are a loyal supporter of mine and what we have going on at JRM. We need to go out and perform well for them, and I expect to do that.”
The weekend also marks JR Motorsports 600th NXS start. Debuting in 2005 with the goal of developing young talent, JRM’s stats include 23 wins along with the 2015 Drivers Championship.
Earnhardt Jr. enjoys racing at Texas, having scored his first wins in both NXS and Sprint Cup at the high-banked mile-and-a-half track. In the Xfinity Series, he has seven starts at the Great American Speedway, scoring a win, three top fives and five top-ten finishes.
Tune in to Fox Sports 1 or PRM tonight at 7:30 p.m. Central Time to see if Earnhardt Jr. takes Goody’s and the No. 88 to victory lane.
